Tell the Government: no development aid for oil and gas

You couldn’t make this up: The UK is spending Official Development Aid funds to promote fracking abroad.

Between 2016-2018, the Foreign Office used international aid funds for 16 strategic projects to expand oil and gas industries and “provide business opportunities” for UK and international companies in Brazil, Mexico, China, Myanmar, and India. Two projects explore exporting UK “expertise in shale gas regulation” to China - while communities from Sussex to Lancashire are fighting back against government regulations on fracking.

Drilling for more oil and gas leads to climate crisis - not development.

Write to the Foreign Secretary and the Minister for International Development and tell them to direct aid money away from fossil fuels.
